Reconnected – With Great Success!
After a year of cancellations, postponements and Zoom meetings, we once again were able to gather together as MDA members with other friends in the dental orbit. Connect4Success 2021 at Camden on the Lake provided the opportunity and you pounced on it. And it was glorious. Warm, mask-less smiles and hearty hugs and greetings were in abundance, as colleagues and friends in record numbers gathered in sunny weather for great CE courses, fabulous exhibitor displays and ample social opportunities. Throughout the event, I heard good feedback, hearty laughter and appreciation from all fronts. Now in its 8th year, C4S has grown steadily into MDA’s premier annual offering and a must-attend summer event. Make plans to join us a tad bit earlier next year as we expand again into new waterfront space at Margaritaville Resort, June 3-4, 2022.
A Big Money Tradition Grows Again
The Connect4Cash raffle benefitting the MDA Foundation is growing into its own rowdy tradition at C4S. Now in its fourth year, this competitive, high-suspense countdown raffle raised a record $15,940 in gross revenue and paid out a new record $1,700 in cold cash to the grand champion. Thanks to generous support from our components and exhibitors, 67 of the 142 players won at least one prize. Some made out like bandits while others grinned through their early elimination, knowing their ticket supported the great programs of the Foundation. A heartfelt thanks to all and here’s how all the money played out during the final countdown at Happy Hour. All are first-time winners in the cash category. Imagine your name up in lights next year holding a big old wad of cash. Kudos to these Cash Kings!

New Dentists Grab Their Own Loot
C4S began as a New Dentist only event to spur interaction and build leadership with recent grads in an informal setting. The secret got out and now all can enjoy this awesome experience. However, true to our roots, we have a ND Social to keep that spirit alive. And it comes with some pretty awesome prizes. After an hour of networking over beverages and apps, we drew winners. You get three entries, but you can win only once. Amazingly, four dentists had their names drawn twice each. This resulted in some spirited negotiation and reshuffling of prizes. In the end, the grins reveal happy winners all the way around. Congrats to Drs. Lisa Bosch, Emily Taylor Moorkamp, Rachel Parker, Bret Durbin, Ryan Bland and Emily Hahn.
A Photo Phinish
Between the CE, the exhibitor breaks, the ACD dinner, the yoga class, the pool and a spontaneous ‘90s party, there were lots of smiling faces last week. Too many to mention by name, so I’ll just point you to this gallery to reminisce.
