Wedding Bells on Cloud 9
The MDA staff happily gathered at the local winery this past Saturday on a sun-splashed day to witness the nuptials between our very own Stacey Kloeppel and her new husband, Paul Hemmel. It was a wonderful day of celebration for all involved. We made sure to run up the bar tab and share some crazy reflections. The stunning bride reported that she felt like she was on Cloud 9 all day. Good for her! I know the whole MDA family wishes the new couple well on the road ahead. Mr. and Mrs. Hemmel will make their home in Holts Summit.
Empire State of Mind
Vicki and Jerri jetted off to the Big Apple for a MedPro conference this week. It’s not often that prairie women get to take in the sights from skyscrapers to St. Patrick’s to Times Square and Broadway, to Central Park and a view of the city from the 102nd Floor Observatory of the Empire State Building. Thankfully these two found some time to enjoy the trip. MedPro is a large malpractice carrier and a great partner to MDIS. In fact, Jerri tweets about them so much she won a prize — her own bobblehead! Congrats to her for her hard work. Both ladies report learning a lot and that means we can offer even better options to you the member.
The Circle of Thanks
I can’t really share a visual story, but I do want to pass on some good juju to all of you. Fairly regularly, as Foundation Director, I get mail here at the office with a thank you note from someone who won a scholarship or received a grant or used our public supply option for community outreach. I even get thank you notes from MOMOM patients. These are pick-me-ups and good reminders of the good work the Foundation does. But that good work is largely reliant on the generous donations from our members like you. Thus. the thank you note really should be addressed to you. The letter writers and me are the first to tell you — Thank You!
The Week Ahead
After some time to regroup at the office this week, next week Team Travel fires up the MDA wheels and heads for Kirksville, Joplin and Kansas City. We have two Food for Thoughts to kick off the fall program. We have a New Dentist social with the Southwest Dental Society and we have a vendor fair at UMKC where we are happy to show our support for the school and mingle with others in the dental community. Throw in a staff meeting and Missouri Dental Board meeting, and there’s no lack of variety. We have you covered corner to corner.
