The Week That Was: August 26-30

Summer Wraps Up as ADA Annual Conference Kicks Off the Fall

It was a quiet week at the MDA, as different staff finished up some vacation and this author got set for his own upcoming R&R adventures out west. But work was still afoot with MOMOM wrap-up and several calls or webinars ranging from the regional U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to how to use word of mouth in membership recruitment to practice transitions.

Next week, Vicki and Shantel will join the MDA Delegation in San Francisco for the ADA Annual Conference. Beyond the exhibitors and general sessions, the schedule includes a message from actor Mark Wahlberg, a special track for New Dentists and the election of national ADA officers including Missouri’s very own Dr. Vince Rapini who is running for 2nd Vice President. I hope to hear plenty of stories and receive good pictures of our members in action so I can give a full report in two weeks.

College football is back and that gives me a chance to crow “War Eagle” before any games have been played. Here’s a hearty roar for our Mizzou Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs as well. Whoever your team and however you celebrate, the MDA wishes you a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. Watch for the next blog post on Friday, September 13.
