The Week That Was: July 1-5

Beating the Heat at the Staff Retreat

Summers in Missouri are notorious for heat and humidity. MDA Staff are notorious for problem solving. Put the two together and you have a cool pool story for our brief 24 hour staff retreat at the Lake. We used some room advantages from Connect4Success and jetted down to the Lodge of the Four Seasons for lunch and an afternoon of shenanigans in the pool. It was a welcomed way to unwind after a busy June. After dinner, we enjoyed the beautiful evening while laughing through some silly games. It’s exactly what a staff retreat should be. Now it’s back to work briefly before the holiday.

And the Winner Is …

Last week I hid a literary Easter egg in the blog to entice people to participate and show their support for this masterpiece of intelligent writing. A whopping seven people entered the drawing for the $25 Visa Gift Card. Congratulations to the winner, Dr. Sarah Cimino from Springfield. Thank you for your good taste and faithful support. Watch your office mail for your prize!

Yankee Doodle Went to Town

The MDA office is closed July 4 and 5 in observance of Independence Day. Whether you ride your pony into town or use some other mode of transportation, we wish you all a safe and fun time celebrating our country’s freedom.

The Week Ahead

The first full work week of July will have most of us back in the swing of things. There’s a staff meeting (not to be confused with a staff retreat), Stacey will work a student fair in Kirksville to welcome the next wave of D1s, I’ll be in St. Louis for their member appreciation event and Vicki has a meeting about the State Oral Health Plan.
