The Week That Was: June 17-21

All Hail the MDA App

One truly American cultural value is that of convenience, and here at the MDA, we are always working on making membership more beneficial by making it convenient. Well, I’m happy to announce the new MDA App for your smartphone is now available. It is a revolution in handheld convenience.  I have been test-driving it and found many appealing features. First, it is clear and easy to read with cool icons. We keep it constantly updated in case you miss an eNews or another newsworthy item. It’s easier to use than the website and it links you directly to pertinent web pages. It’s always at your fingertips, so check it out whenever you have downtime. It’s very informative with a good archive feature. You can even read the Focus article on it. And it may be the easiest way to access benefits you may not even know about. I give it two thumbs up, so get your thumbs on it today!

Secret Santa Selection

Christmas in July is a real thing for the MDA/MDIS staff. Earlier this week we had our drawing to discover our Secret Santa staff friend. Each week in July we will get a simple pick-me-up gift and leave it for our staff friend in the common area. All month long happy surprises and wild guesses will fill the office. And then at the end of the month, we will have a staff lunch to reveal our Secret Santa. It was a big hit last year, and I look forward to some savory treats again this year.

MOMOM Supplies – Count Along with Me

One of the reasons MOMOM is so successful is the wide variety of GREAT partners we have. One such partner is Patterson Dental who helps us manage central supply. It’s a big job to keep up with all the products and make sure we have adequate quantities on hand at the clinic. Today I welcomed Felicia Prier, Connie Beavers and Shea Handley to the MDA basement to rummage through all the bins and figure out we need to order. They drove from Springfield and they are giving it their all with a fantastic attitude to boot. I can’t tell you how helpful this is to me and ultimately to you, the volunteer provider, at MOMOM. Teamwork makes the dream work. Thank you, ladies!

The Week Ahead

The MOMOM jam continues as I travel to St. Joe for the final local meeting and walk through. We are 8 weeks out and the pace is now brisk as we head toward the big day. I also see an important annual board meeting for the Missouri Coalition for Oral Health next Friday. Vicki will be in attendance.
