Dr. Jacqueline Demko will be “Living the Suite Life”
Congratulations to Dr. Demko, an orthodontist in Chesterfield, who is the grand prize winner of the Living the Suite Life Foundation raffle! She was selected from 229 total entries. Her prize is an all-exclusive suite to a 2017 St. Louis Cardinal game valued at $2,500. Below is a photo of her winning basket which includes an autographed baseball from Hall of Famer, Red Schoendienst. Good times ahead! Thanks to all who participated. Collectively we raised $3,840 to be shared between the MDA Foundation and the Dental Well Being Foundation. This will provide needed support to the many positive programs hosted by the foundations.
Survey Says – Are You Healthy?
The first-ever DWBF member survey on wellness launched recently and the deadline for member response is March 10. Members, please take a few minutes to fill it out; 60 of you have so far! The results will help us serve you better.
At the Office
Sickness kept a few people out for a few days, but we are returning to full strength. Meanwhile a lot of time and focus was spent by Vicki, Paul, Denise and Rebecca Mowen preparing to answer the RFP from the state to run the Well Being Program. We have had this contract for years, and now it’s time to compete for renewal.
Preparations also are starting for the MDA Foundation Board meeting later this month. The dental student scholarship deadline is today. The Board will be selecting three applicants to each receive $5,000 toward their education. This is always a lengthy deliberation which speaks well of our qualified applicants.
On the Road
On Monday, Melissa and Mandy were in Springfield to film videos for updates to the orthodontic modules of the MDA EFDA Program. Thanks to Janet Sell and Rebecca Caceres, dental assistant and hygiene instructors at Ozarks Technical College and Dr. Steve Harrison, all of whom helped make the day productive and enjoyable, and thanks to Parkcrest Dental Group for hosting our crew!
It pretty much will be business as usual. Status updates will be discussed at a staff meeting and some preliminary discussions will be had on using webinars to expand CE offerings to members. Vicki and Katie will attend the Missouri Oral Health Policy Conference put on by the Missouri Coalition for Oral Health. Also watch for the MDA eNews to hit your inbox on Wednesday, March 8.
