When Worlds Collide

Keeping on the dental education topic for today, I attended a local lunch-and-learn put on by the Capital Regional Medical Center Corporate and Community Health Department.

It so happens that’s where my wife uses her RN and teaching background as a Wellness Navigator. I was happy to attend to support her, but also because the topic was on the link between oral health and overall health.

Tammy Miller, RDH from Cherry Hill Dental, did a fine job explaining, among other things, that  gum disease is a silent killer for some and how you can’t ignore your mouth because it affects many health issues like diabetes and heart disease.

I was one of about 35 people from all walks of life at the hospital or the community who attended and benefited from the presentation. Thank you CRMC for educating the community and elevating oral health. Thank you Tammy for your time and support.
